Sorry to hear about the girl, thats as much on her though. I read ccs on slow days and i cannot think of anything i read from lance so it must not be good content. Which is par for the course for most the ccs refugees.

I dgaf if he has crazy job, it's his site. There are serious security concerns if my girlfriend could start getting text messages from some punk posting there like put of nowhere. F that. I never should have shared my Facebook on there.

I think he wanted quantity over quality on the messageboard and sold his soul to get more traffic.  Then the board seemed to get to the point that almost anything was allowed.  There is a lesson to be learned there.  Maybe on this board it can be made pretty clear that there is zero tolerance for stirring the crap.  Maybe give one warning and then just pull the trigger.  If they are allowed back after a duration, let them know they are on thin ice if they pull any more crap.  

Our lives are probably all stressful enough already.  Why spend time on a messageboard that's just going to get your stress level higher.

The only problem with that Ric is will Rick (Ski) even listen.  My guess is no, he won't.  Not when these guys you mentioned are blowing in his ear about letting them all come in and drink all the beer and then piss on the floor.

He and Scott (Loki) wouldn't listen to me before I left and you know that Rick and I go all the way back to the start of DaBears and that I was one of the original staff members and moderator of the football forum.  I also warned Rick that when he began The Bar Scene that some of that would eventually spill over into other forums and I wasn't the only "old timer" who told him that.  He didn't listen to any of us then either.

Rick seems bent on increasing the membership with exactly the type of members we wanted to eliminate when he asked me to join and help moderate back in 1984.  If that's his decision, and he owns the site so that's his privilege, then mine is to leave.  And I did.  Coming on an dumping some news or posting back to an old friend doesn't mean I'm back as some may have misinterpreted. 

The only way I'd even think about it is if Rick had a change of heart about what he'd be willing to permit and gets rid of the two nutless mods who either can't or won't do crap.  The place has become like a dive bar I don't want to hang around in any longer.

 To be honest I think Rick somewhat abandoned it long ago.  Maybe it was his naval career that caused some of it or maybe he's just moved on to other stuff.  Who knows?  I haven't spoken with him or PM'd him since our disagreement months ago.  We couldn't resolve it so I moved on and I've actually been quite happy posting some analysis elsewhere where if a troll appears the entire site ousts him in a big hurry.  That's the way it was when we began DaBears and IMHO that's the way it should be.

I have no problems with fans from other teams or sites coming in to post opinions and talk football but opinions are not facts and and neither are insults and put downs of Bear players no matter who they come from.  If anyone has an honest critique to post then do so and be prepared to back it up because you will be challenged if by no one else then by me. I love to debate but a good debate is based on verifiable facts and not personal opinion and innuendo thinly disguised as facts, gut feelings, or a little birdie told me so.

I think we've already hear enough of that crap this election year.

Yep, you and I could battle it out with a war of words like two brothers arguing over beers at our local watering hole and that we always permitted between long time members who knew where to draw the line.  But this is different.

What's really pathetic is the very same stuff Jimmors and I went at it over months ago after I went after one of the idiots is now becoming common place and OK to do.  None of it made sense then and it makes less sense now.

If they prefer fools to knowledgeable football people there than let them have it.  Then it's no longer the best Bears site on the web to me.  That's false advertising.
