Chicago Bears receiver Kevin White is questionable to play on Sunday because of a hamstring injury.
The Bears’ official injury report listed White as limited in practice on Friday, but the team said following the workout that White would not be made available to reporters during the NFL-mandated 45-minute open locker-room period.
White, the seventh overall pick of the 2015 NFL draft, missed his entire rookie year because of a shin stress fracture that required surgery.
“I'm not going to get into whether he's playing or not, because we won't,” Bears coach John Fox said. “But I think really whether he played last year or not really doesn't have any effect on whether he's ready this week or not.
“I think everybody's different, you know. I think some people deal with it different than others. Obviously that's a muscle group that's important especially in top-end running. We'll kind of evaluate that as we get closer. We don't have to make those decisions until an hour-and-a-half before kickoff and we probably won't.”
White failed to make an impact in Chicago’s opening three exhibition games, but led the team with four catches for 74 yards in the preseason finale at Cleveland.
“We thought it was important for Kevin to play because he missed so much time in the past,” offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains said. “We’re excited with how he played against the Browns. He did a nice job. I think that he’s a guy that’s going to keep getting better and better. We’re excited that way. He hasn’t played football in a long time so every day he goes out, he’s getting better.”
In addition to White, Fox also put the other eight injured Bears as questionable on the report, including right guard Kyle Long (shoulder) and cornerback Kyle Fuller (knee).
Long, who this week received a four-year contract extension that includes $30 million in guarantees, is expected to play Sunday.

I really hope White can play in the season opener. He already missed all of first season and having something like this worries me about our first round pick. Our second first round pick hasn't been talked up from our DC so our 1st really needs to show an impact.
