You wouldn't believe how many 'attacks' and efforts to get in here we had in the last 3 days... I would say, pretty accuratelly, behind majority is a guy known as Grimson, and I have some proofs. They tried to register as shark, kegstand, kronik/sox, sph34, butkus, paytonisgod... I feel sorry for these guys, I really do
Alex - Did anybody reach out to Butkus3595? If nobody did, I have a pretty good relationship with him.

That dude is just a turd with no (meaningful) life apparently
Um, this little fella just contacted us to register his objection to being lumped in with Grimson.
I don't think the roster turnover is simply a matter of our talent sucking, it's a matter of scheme changes and personnel philosophy.
We're running a 3-4 defensive front with more man corner responsibilities of the D and we're running a zone blocking RBC possession offense that utilizes blocking TEs, guards who can pull and block in space etc.
So, while we've certainly had talent issues, our turnover is more complex than just saying - our team sucked.

Agreed. We've gone from a 4-3 front with a soft zone based Cover 2 secondary to a more aggressive 3-4 hybrid front and more man and press coverage. That's a wild swing in defensive schemes and in the case of how Fangio does things we're even less conventional.
Same on offense. We gone from Turner's WCO, through Martz semi Air Coryell, to Tice's "Hester Packages" (whatever the F those were), to Trestman's lollipop and kumbiya football, and now we've finally got Cutler back to playing in an offense like the one Shanny ran in Denver that he was drafted to play in to begin with. No wonder he's getting more comfortable.
This is taking some massive overhauls of personnel. Pace and Fox appear to be getting the job done but the only way we're even gonna know how far along we are is to play the next 16 games and then see where we stand as far as talent and depth are concerned.
I think we are trending in the right direction and have liked how our D has played in the preseason. Once Fangio get all his guys and truly opens it up, it can be special. We may never have a special offense and I do think Jay is part of that. He can play but rumors of him being a dick and a lousy leader continue to surface every so often. I'm not convinced our O will play their hearts out for him. We can and will win with him but I think it will take the next new QB before we go the next big offensive step. Jmo

Why is it the only place we ever read that is in the opinions of the media but never coming from his own teammates? In fact it's usually just the opposite unless they're a FORMER teammate who was traded. The guys who are still playing with him are thrilled to have him as their QB. What current Bears player has had anything bad to say or criticized his leadership?
So many have gone so far out on a limb trying to support those old ideas that they refuse to back off of them now even after all of the evidence has been presented that it was all pure bull shit to begin with and little more than something manufactured by the media who always seem to need someone to wear the black hat and be the bad guy. This is old news. Very old news.

Former players are who I am thinking of, and in mast cases with a QB, that's when you hear. Very uncommon to say anything about your current QB. And memory is not good but I thought there were some insinuations a few years back by then current members which is as strong as it's going to get. I'm not advocating getting rid of him but rather suggesting that a new era in bears offense probably won't happen until he is gone and only if we make the right pick

Cutty was never THE problem w/the Bears O, but he was part of THE problem. In the end he's an average qb, has been for awhile, and you can do better(w/the qb you almost need to) then average. Average shouldn't guarantee you a spot on the roster as it has for Cutty the last 2-3 years.

Well let's face it offense has seldom been the Bears long suit but to me this is the best collection of skills players and QB we've had since the early to mid '80s so I don't see any reason why they can't be productive enough to win a championship once they get an OL healthy and stabilized.
If Cutler ever lacked anything in leadership it was because he himself didn't believe in the offenses he was being asked to run or the plays he was given. I think that was especially true under Tice and to a certain degree under Trestman as well.
But I can't think of one player past or present whose ever questioned his toughness, competitiveness, or desire to win. That was all media manufactured garbage. I'm not gonna count on the next guy to come along to be any better because I've seen 50 plus years of worse far too many times to think that somehow we'll be blessed with the next Tom Brady or Payton Manning.
