Color me surprised the Corny is still sitting 3rd string.
But notice something. They have Line stoppers behind Hicks, not penetrators, Hicks, Ego, Browner. The otherside has the opposite other then Unrien, then it goes Bullard, Corny.
I'm surprised they have Sutton as the NT, I thought he'd been playing stronger on the end.
I hope C Jones lands somewhere. As much as anyone he was misused as a Bear. The guy should have always been a pass rushing Will or OLB. ILB was never something he should have been asked to do.
Hall is looking like a PS candidate. The starters aren't very good at CB, but the depth guys are all close.

S doesn't surprise me either
Nothing surprises me on O.
I don't think Fangio feels Sutton has the "length" he wants out of his DEs. The lack of depth forced him to use him there last season but now with Bullard onboard and if CWash can stick and stay uninjured he has his two penetrating DEs and he can play Sutton as a smaller penetrating NT. He and Williams made a nice stop on the goal line stand against NE.
Jones is another guy I think they were forced to play out of position last year because I agree with you. He should be used as an OLB/Edge Rusher. Just moving him out there seems to have elevated Acho's play so far since those two seem to be competing for the same roster spot.
Not really. They're very different types of backs which is also why the back end of a depth chart doesn't really mean all that much other than reps in practice and who they take them with and what unit they play with during preseason games.
Howard played far more than Quizz did last week and Shaw got all of the snaps with the 3rd unit while Fales got none. Some of it may also be a coaching staff prerogative and a simple psychological incentive to push certain players. It may mean a bit more after the first cut down but it's still not the final deal on who makes the roster and who doesn't.
