Bears offensive line has a lot to prove against Chiefs in Preseason Week 3

The Chicago Bears’ offensive line has struggled throughout the preseason as injuries have forced lineup changes that are preventing the group from getting comfortable.
The unit has a lot to prove Saturday against the Kansas City Chiefs.
It begins at center, where Cornelius Edison is in line to start for the first time in his career. With Ted Larsen sliding over to right guard for the injured Kyle Long, Edison will be the biggest x-factor during the time that the starters are on the field.
Keep an eye on backup left tackle Garry Williams, too. He has been Pro Football Focus’ highest-graded OT this preseason and if he puts together another big game, he could be one step closer to making this Bears roster.

Offensive line HASN'T struggled throughout the preseason, in fact they play very well against the Pats when 1st was in

I haven't watched too much PS. How has Williams looked?
Edison still gets the nod OC over Holmes and while we can't put much stock in an PFF OL ranking vet Garry Williams looks like he may be able to back Leno at LT. I've watched him play and he actually is a pretty fair pass blocker.

Well the starters did against Denver then cleaned it up a lot against NE but then NE played a pretty vanilla defense compared to all that blitzing Denver did. But in this case I think the author is focused more on the backup and their play since due to the injuries they may be called to start.
The starting five seem to be set once Long is back playing again but all of the backup spots are still up for grabs. One guy who they really need to see is Silatolu. If he can play then he can back Long at RG and we can keep Larsen at OC in the event Long can't go.
The there's the battle for the backup OC spot between Edison and Holmes and it looks like Adams and Williams are the two in the mix for the swing OT spot. With Long out I expect to see Fox rotate some of these guys in and out as starters this week.
They need to make some decision pretty soon with the first round of cuts coming and with some of these guys like Adams and Silatolu coming off major injuries and surgery they have to know who can go and who can't.

His pass blocking has looked pretty sound. The guy is a 6 year vet whose started some games for Carolina over the years and to me he looks a lot like Leno out there. Similar size and body build. I think it's probably between him and Mike Adams as far as who gets the swing OT spot and so far Williams is ahead in that game.
