On a bright note, I'm glad the Bears seem to have found their LT, I said most of last year that I thought he was doing a better job then he was getting credit for. And it looks like he's building off that. Great, no but steady and good is better then the shit they've had. If they can build off that then all the better.
Glenn actually did have a pretty solid game; then again compared to the garbage he was surrounded with that might have tainted the view.
Freeman has done nothing but show up all PS. It's nice to see.
Shaw kills me, it seemed like the Bears might have had something, and then he gets hit w/a "serious injury" words from Fox so I'm guessing there will be an RIP thread for him tomorrow b/c Fox understates or ignores everything.
Shaw suffered an open fracture (bone through skin). That's why they operated on it immediately. Those are always ASAP surgeries due to infection risk. He's out for a couple months minimum. I doubt he's back this season.
Didn't look good, but still surprised that it was a bone through skin. Man.... just sucks that it was to the only QB we have had come through here that looks like he knows what to do with a football.
But once again the suckitude of the offense overshadows and good the defense can do. Foxy needs to dig into this now. If we end up with an OC whose the equivalent of Mel Tucker as a DC I'm sure not gonna be a happy camper. Not when he has the talent he has at the skills positions. They gotta fix that OL.
That's what I am afraid of, Soul. That Logg may be the OC version of Tucker. The talent level on this O isn't top of the line but it's way better than the performances in PS 1 & 3 would indicate.

That's what I read somewhere and I also read he went straight to the hospital and was operated on same day. That also indicates a compound or "open" fracture. Total shame since he was the only one out there on the O who seemed to be playing like he gave a damn.

I agree Soul and think at least getting Long back at RG should improve the prospects for a decent running game to the right. If Whitehair and Leno can be at least stable on the left maybe some quick slants or curls over the middle with a 3 receiver package on that side could open up more running.
That's my thinking. Run what your OL allows you to run.
It's the NFL equivalent of "if you can't be with the one you love, love the one your with".

Probably too early to tell yet but with no OL no OC can dial up much that will work or take advantage of the weapons he's got. It may be mid season again before these guys get it together.

Not sure if you coined the phrase, but from now on I'll be referencing Dowell Loggains as 'The Logg' as in the log of offensive coordinating excrement.
