They should shitcan Shane Waldron immediately though. Zero doubt about that. Make the Pass Coordinator or QB Coach the interim OC/play-caller.
As much as I despise Flus at this point, I can recognize that he is a solid DC even though he sucks as a HC. He can handle the D the rest of the season* and remain the nominal HC. Waldron on the other hand is a fkn disaster. He's been bad all year and he got his ass handed to him this weekend by the Cards DC. I know the Cards well and I can tell you for certain that they are NOT a good defense. They have no pass rush and a terrible secondary outside of Buddha Baker. Despite that, Waldron got trucked and for the 2nd week in a row he get the ball to his TE and couldn't throw the ball against a bad secondary.
There's a lot of rumblings coming out that the locker room is really pissed off with the coaches. Waldron has been a complete fail. So send a message and maybe a change sparks some life into this offense. What we have been doing is clearly NOT WORKING. As always, the decision to keep Flus with a new QB coming in was a predictably stupid one and the decision to hire Waldron over the other candidates available has proven to be yet another Bears-quality move.
Rule #1:
When presented with 2-3 possible options, you can count on the Bears to always choose the worst one.
*Flus needs to be canned the day after the season ends week 17. There won't be a playoff game.
