That's my focus too at this point. Maybe you've been (like me) listening to the various ex-players and coaches wade in on Caleb. Even with a crappy offensive line, there are things Caleb can/should improve in spite of the OL woes. It won't fix the offense or save our season. But at least there are things Caleb can work on to improve his game. I'm hoping the new OC T.Brown can help Caleb to do this successfully. Some things I'm hearing from multiple sources is that the Bears can commit more to the run game and that will help the OL and Caleb, both. I keep hearing about setting Caleb up with more layup passes rather than trying to drop back and wait for deeper pass plays... which will get the ball out fast consistently and save wear and tear on CW. They talk about how Caleb's footwork has deteriorated and that is hurting his passing accuracy - it is why we're seeing the bad throws so often... that is something that can/should be fixed. My point is that it sure sounds like there are things that can help Caleb and stop the regression and deterioration as the season progresses. Things that can be done in spite of the level of competition ahead. Will we win games? Maybe not, but at least we may see Caleb begin to improve. That's the focus for me too at this point. CW improving and at least not getting worse.
So there were warning signs Flus wasn't running a very tight ship. Reminds me of that Trestman camp when Bennett decked Fuller and the HC just watched from a distance. Weak leaders breed weak teams.
Who holds the record for worst winning % among Bears HCs? Cuz Flus may end up taking the crown by the end of this season.
