Thomas Brown Has An Unexpected Reputation Among NFL Players

I know this is a "Sport Mockery" article, but this one is pretty good and worth the read.  I don't expect miracles with a mid-season coaching change like this.  But I do like giving Thomas Brown a chance to try and bring some sanity to the offense.  He seems like the exact opposite of Shane Waldron in that he comes across as dynamic (better leader type guy) and very quick/intelligent.  He is supposedly a no bull crap guy with the players too.  Listening to him yesterday reminded me a bit of Mike Tomlin... he comes across as that kind of personality to me.

Yeah, I don't expect any miracles with this change in OC mid-season.  But there is a possibility we do have a head coach talent here in this guy (listen to the Spiegal & Holmes podcast linked in that previous post above).  Not saying that is the case.  Just saying that is one possibility for this guy.  At least this move to make him OC makes it worth watching these games (for me anyway).  We may not win another game this season.  But as some have said, this is all about Caleb Williams now and maybe we see the free-fall regression in Caleb stop, and even see improvement/development now.

Reading Adam Johns article on Brown in the Athletic this week, I can see why he's been a HC candidate the past couple years. I'm excited to see what he can do with the offense the rest of the season. Like you, I'm not expecting miracles, but there are things that can be done to help the offense with the talent we have available to us. And I wouldn't be against making him the HC if he does a really good job with the offense going forward.

I want to see more creative play calling in the red zone.  That was Waldron’s problem in Seattle and it continued in Chicago.  And when he finally did try something creative, it was having a backup center carry and fumble on the 1-yd. line!

Anyway, I am sick of this red zone offense…
