On to Minny for the Bears
On to San Fran for the Pack
Focus is one game at a time. Flush the last one and get to work on the next one.
NFC North is not for the faint of heart. This is where the big boys play. Once you get a seat at the big boys table you have to man up or someone will take it from you.
At this point. Poles needs to be fired for keeping Flus. He has set this franchise back and might of destroyed our young rookie QB.
He isn't going to fire him during season. Who would be the interim head coach? K then. Caleb will be fine now with Waldron gone. Let Brown handle Caleb. Eberflus is better with the D than Bears fans give him credit for. That is a good D. And don't tell me Washington runs the D. Eberflus makes that D good.
You sure as hell don't fire Eberflus right now. The Bears just played their best game of the season. Granted, the Packers played their worst game of the season and still won. The Packers-Bears rivalry is always going to be a war. Stay tuned for January. Date and time TBD.
Let the season play out, then you re-evalute the situation, & at that point you may decide to fire Eberflus. When things go wrong, a lot of fans resolution is always: "Fire everyone!" Take a deep breath. You are good, panicking and firing everyone is not a rational move right now. A big problem is gone in Waldron. Get to the end of the season, and go from there.
I just want to say how proud I am of how Caleb played in this game.
He did not have an exceptional game statistically. 231 yards. 0 TDs and 0 INTs. 70 rushing yards. 95.0 Rating.
That's not the point here.
He played HARD in a big game in a lost season. The OL sucks. The coaching sucks. The WRs had several embarrassing drops.
But this guy went out there and it was apparent that he gave it his all and in crunch time he produced like the QB we hoped he would be.
He has every right to be proud of that. He should not be hanging his head low today.
How he handled himself in that game is exactly what I'd look for in a future franchise QB.
CW had 300 all-purpose yards and made clutch throws to put his team in a position to win. He wasn't perfect by ay means but he looked much better and he outplayed Love who threw an awful pick and benefitted statistically from two DBs falling down.
Since I know the Bears org is too cowardly to fire Flus until Black Monday, my only hope left for this year is that Brown can keep CW's arrow pointing up and his confidence won't suffer thru the death throes of the Flus-era. Then maybe just maybe Poles can stop f'ing around and get a real HC in here along with some OL reinforcements.
With a real HC, we are 6-4 now at worst and probably 7-3. Despite a shaky OL and losing in AZ.

I am feeling better now about his confidence. The plays called are allowing him to run and throw. He is moving the ball. He got us to where the game was ours yesterday. I think he will be ok. He is probably counting the days until we change out Flus. The problem is that he is new with the Bears. He needs to understand that we normally replace with the same or worse.

The Bears organization is legendary for always choosing the wrong guy and then hanging on to him a year too long.
If that tendency is due to ownership balking at eating extra contract money (as I think it likely is), then its time--past time actually--for Poles to GROW SOME BALLS.
Insist on running the coaching staff as you see fit. As is commensurate with your title as GM. If George whines, tell him he needs to get out of the way or you will resign immediately and he can go hire another yes-man. Stop just collecting a check and grow some damn balls.
And if Ryan Poles' friendship with Flus is clouding his judgement in any way, Kevin Warren needs to put down his lakefront stadium crack pipe and bust some skulls. Tell Poles he needs to fire Flus or you will fire them both. Again....GROW SOME BALLS.
I am so fed up with all the "nice church boys" this organization hires. I want an ass-kicker, take-no-prisoners, won't-tolerate-any-bullshit kind of guy in here.
PS: Lost in the shuffle of another 4th Q Flus debacle was the disastrous opening drive yesterday. The D let the Packers move down the field at will and gave up an easy TD in embarrassing fashion on a 12-men-on-the-field free play. They had an extra defender on the field illegally and still the WR was wide open. No different than the clownish way Rodgers used to burn them every year.
This is the D we are talking about here. Flus' home turf and his direct responsibility. Each and every one of us watching that thought he comes another blowout loss with game over by the mid-3rd Q.

Flus blows
There are times that I am not impressed with the Flus defense. And that IMO is his claim to fame. He gives up too many running yards
Pat Mcafee was saying that the Refs might have blown that call. The Bears got a call reversed due to "Leverage" this season. But its all in the past so whatevs.
