If the Bears wind up with a Top 10 pick, so be it.
The difference is, did they wind up there deliberately, or was it just failure after honestly trying?
The impact in the locker room is different.
I agree. We just need to watch it all go down and not worry about tanking. Especially if the Vikings win this next game. 'Flus isn't gonna tank because this is his job on the line. The tanking talk is just talk. Let the Eberflus hype train from 2022 roll into the station for the final time, at the end of the season. There won't be any riders left to hop off that train by that point. Maybe poor old Virginia will get helped off the train by George and "that will be that" for the "Flus era.
No, Flus is not going to tank on purpose. He is going to tank because he is not very good
I would only vote for it, if you guarantee that winning 7 games would get Poles fired. Flus is already good as gone.
Williams is what he is. The only thing I care about is that Brown calls plays to minimize chances of Williams going down with an ACL and missing most of next season. More of what we have already been seeing would add nothing to his development.
I want to see guys like Booker and Amegadjie get some snaps in the remaining games, because it would help their development and give us an idea how much we can depend on them to contribute next year.
Yeah, we wouldn't want to jeopardize our "culture". The HITS principle has been such a smashing success.
I'm not worried about that at all. Whatever gets Flus and his merry band of incompetent underlings outta here is fine by me. The new HC will instill his own culture. There's nothing of that from the Flus-era anyone will miss.
And to be honest, the culture isn't what it has been billed to be. Guys are loafing not H.I.T.S. stuff right now... in fact it sure seems like we are seeing the cracks in the locker room (I think these guys want change too). I don't think the team needs to tank because it's going to be the same result as a tank. Guys will be checking out more and more and the losses will come as a natural result of that.
Yeah of course guys are gonna stop giving 100% when they see the HC blowing winnable games over and over and then taking no responsibility afterwards. Multiple players are saying things to the press that players usually don't say out loud. Jaylon Johnson today said the way these losses are happening is "almost comical". Brisker said "fans deserve better". Plus others.
They know their HC is dumbass who has had 9 subordinates fired in less than 3 years and isn't gonna take them on any deep runs. They're gonna be packing it in soon making business decisions and I don't blame them.

I never want the team to lose, but I do worry about how this organization sees things. If we somehow end up 9-8 are they going to keep Flus even with everything we've seen? This organization has a distressing tendency not to make needed changes until they are humiliated into doing so.
Trestman was fairly obviously a bad coach halfway through his first year. I don't care if the defense was getting old it takes a special kind of bad to go from one of the best to the worst in one year, whatever the offense accomplished. Yet if the team hadn't been embarrassingly routed in several games his second year, I'm not entirely sure ownership would not have given him one more year. Things had to go completely off the rails for them to take action.
That's my worry right now. I don't like seeing the team lose. But I don't want any winning to be an excuse to bring Flus back.

That's my position too. It sucks to be in it. I'd always rather win but I'm terrified that a semi-respectable finish will allow these morons to justify keeping Flus.

We're all in teh same boat here, wanting to win but not at the cost of being Flustered another year or two. Flus absolutely has to be fired. No later than 12:01 am on Black Monday.

I'm ranting and preaching to the choir here I know, but I am so beyond fed up with the Bears clown college organization I can't see straight. These buffoons make the same dumb mistakes over and over and over. And then its yet another year where there's no meaningful football left and the season is effectively over by mid-November. And we get to be stuck in this awful limbo where winning a game isn't even fun because you have to be terrified the easily-satisfied-with-mediocrity front office won't make any necessary changes.
It sucks being scared to root for a win and having to hope somehow to lose enough games so that the morons over at HH will actually take this seriously.
George & Fam are sooooooooo lucky they happen to own a hapless NFL franchise in large, loyal, sports-crazy market. Imagine if instead they owned a team in Atlanta or Jacksonville or LA -- the stadium would be empty, the merch wouldn't sell, and they would have gone broke many years ago, long before the TV contracts became so lucrative.

Well, as I have said before, players and coaches NEVER tank. Too much at stake for them every time they run out of the tunnel.
So, Bears fans say they will root against winning their final seven games and going to the playoffs.
It doesn't matter that winning 7 in a row is not probable. It is not probable for every team in the league, but I promise you the Bears fan base is the ONLY fan base in the NFL rooting against their own team.

Pathetic. I am embarrassed for you.
Just an off the cuff suggestion, but you might get more play on the being embarrassed for Bears fans on the Cheesehead board
The fans want to have a winning franchise again. Obviously they are just reacting right now to a disappointing 3 years with Eberflus as coach. You know that. You're trolling here.
