What happens after we pay Jenkins big money (akin to Nate Davis) and he's constantly hurt like he has been the last 4 years?
Like I say, he's a big maybe. Depends on how things go and perhaps he would take a hometown discount as it were.
I'm done with Jenkins and wouldn't pay him. It's a shame cuz he's above-average when healthy but the guy is made of glass. He misses time so often you almost have to have a 2nd starter at his position to back him up. TJ is just utterly unreliable.
He was Pace's draft pick as well so I imagine Poles will move on. If Trey Smith hits the open market, that's a major upgrade there and yes, you bite the bullet and pay him top market money IMO.

Neither Jones nor Jenkins are Wartime Consiglieres.
Jenkins with the injury history. Jones because he gets bull rushed right back into that pocket.
They are not worth $15M to $20M per year. Especially so given our draft resources and cap space.
The ideal scenario for me is to draft Jones’ replacement in the first round if we get a pick at 10.
Both guards can easily be addressed via the draft and FA. Not to mention C too.

The Bears will not draft 3 rookie offensive linemen, and I don't think they should. Its really hard to get one rookie onboard, but two or three is just reckless.
I'm hopeful they get bite the bullet and buy a good offensive lineman in FA and draft one OL in the first three picks. They don't have a 4th round pick this year (Pitt is not going to play Justin unless injury happens). Maybe they take a 6th or 7th round OL pick, but that's just a lottery ticket.
It makes no sense to talk about draft until we see what he gets out of free agency. Poles lets other GMs get the blue-chip free agents and goes for second-tier guys at center and guard. If he does that again and thinks “problem solved” we will have same problems in 2025. If we thinks he’s getting them for depth, then we need to draft a center and at least one guard, depending on what happens with Jenkins. I am OK with the tackles at least until the middle of the line is solid. I am still toying with the idea of moving Wright to RG and Amegadjie at RT, if he can handle it —TBD.

Good grief that line is messed up.
I was hoping Jenkins was gonna put together a good contract year -- say, play well and miss no more than 2 starts in 17 games. But it's the same ole shit with him yet again--he's constantly missing or banged up and not consistently reliable. I am done with him. Good luck in your next stop, Tevin.
Brax at least is reliable and available. Plus he has another year left on his rookie deal to assess him with. If you have a shot at a great LT prospect, by all means draft him. If not, Brax gets his final chance in 2025.

First, Kiran has to get his ass off the trainer's table. Dude has been hurt quite literally all year. Great pick for the 3rd round there.
