Every time I read stories like this I weep and gnash my teeth for Slauson. Oh why? Oh why Pace?

It's about money and cap space as much as anything Shark.  $4.4 mil of it to be more exact.  It's somewhat like when we traded off Slauson's $3.5 mil cap hit for Ramirez's $1 mil or less cap hit which may have worked OK had Ramirez not pulled the plug in his career.

Sullivan might be working pursuing if the Vikings are willing to take a late pick or we wait to see if he's released.  They seem to need to clear some cap space up there so one way or another it seems likely he'll be available although how much good it will do who can say?

I get the financial part, but two back surgeries last year, and 34 years old. That is a recipe for disaster if you ask me. Especially as thin as we are. That is a pretty weak basket to put even one egg into.

Sullivan is only 31.  The guy they intend to replace him with is 34.
