I can respect you don't want to get into a political conversation, and i certainly don't want one with you cus i already see we are standing on the opposite sides of the track in some ways lol not that i support Trump, but the indictments should be headed in the direction of people with the last name of Clinton. I do agree that Trump is greedy man and not charismatic at all.
But i just don't see this topic being all political. Sure politics have found their way into it at times, but these player(s) almost walking have no political association imo...plus it was a big deal before Trump entered the picture, so i can't agree it wouldn't even be an issue if Trump had kept his yapper shut, like he should have.
I guess i'm just searching for some kind of answer(s) as to why a grown person would find that phrase so offensive that they are seriously considering leaving their pro career for it. I just don't see the connection between inmates, prison, and the NFL...
While it's entirely possible Bob McNair's remark was not meant to be racist in nature in view of what's happening it was bound to be taken that way. In the end it was an ill chosen remark to make at this time whether it fit the situation or not and I think McNair also realized it soon after. Chalk it up to "poking the bear".
So it's always been political but on a very small scale until our President in Tweet used it as a simple crap stir for his minions in order to deflect attention from what he knew was coming down the pike. How many more times will that happen before he masses have their own "ah ha moment" and see it clearly for what it is?
Regardless of whether I agree with the players actions or not they have a right to express their own opinions about something they feel strongly about and most teams were at least somewhat unified in having all of the team support their protest so it's not just the black players who are protesting. They're just being more upfront about it.
Having the WH call attention to it in the manner that it was done is one more example of a desire to divide public opinion instead of unify it and that is probably the more evil part of the agenda we're seeing. This was no more than one more tool to further that agenda and politicize it for personal gain.
Someone should point out to the WH and possibly the public in general that NFL players are unionized and work under a CBA both side have approved. Firing them or benching them solely because of their personal beliefs would almost certainly be found to be a violation of that CBA. That could bring about lawsuits and even more negative publicity the NFL would dearly love to avoid so do you think the owners were at all happy with how this was politicized.
I'm sorry but it is all just politics as far as I'm concerned and when the #1 politician in the country uses it solely as a means to divide a country for his own political gain he once again becomes a poster child for all that's going wrong with this system right now. So it God damn well is political and dirty politics at it's worst and it's way past time most woke the **** up and realized it because it's gotten way out of hand.
Now, maybe we should shut this thread down before it becomes even more of an issue.
