Jets acquire No. 3 draft pick from Colts Dennis Waszak Jr.Associated Press
The New York Jets have acquired the No. 3 overall pick in the NFL draft from the Indianapolis Colts, moving up three spots in a sign that they intend to get one of the top quarterbacks available.
The Jets announced Saturday that they are sending the Colts their first-rounder — No. 6 overall — along with two second-rounders this year and a second-rounder next year to complete the massive deal.
New York re-signed veteran Josh McCown and has agreed to terms with Teddy Bridgewater, both on one-year deals, but it was believed the Jets would still focus on finding a quarterback of the future with their first-round pick.
By moving up to No. 3, New York assures itself of getting one of the top-rated quarterbacks available in this year's draft.
Not front line Bears related but it will have an impact on the first seven picks. The Jets seem to definitely declared themselves as QB buyer here. I can't imagine trading two 2nds and 2nd round pick in 2019 for any other position.
So now we have;
1-Cleveland 2- New York Giants 3- New York Jets 4- Cleveland 5- Denver 6- Indy 7- Tampa Bay 8- Chicago

Any thoughts on this?
I’m thinking we’re going to get a great player as I could see perhaps 3 qbs going in front of us giving us a top 5 pick when you take out the qb’s.
Could go both ways here, if 3 QB’s go before us and someone really wants that 4th, someone is going to way overpay to move up. I kinda hope it’s us they overpay.
A 3rd would likely come to Denver to learn behind Keenum for a year or two. If someone wants a 4th that early they'd probably hit on Indy who needs much help but not a QB. But even that depends on who that 4th QB is and how desperate someone is to get him.
Unless we could be certain of still getting a guy we wanted I would not trade down when we should have at least one top five pick looking at us and/or maybe that edge rusher project Edmunds. We really need to add more playmakers on defense and this would be a good spot to do it.

We need to get a cornerstone player now who can be a game-changer. It may be a pipe dream, but I'd sure like us to land a true game-changer like an Urlacher or Hampton type player who can dominate a game. We don't have that guy. We need one. We have some very good players, but not the elite player who can change the outcome of a game like that. And if we can't get that level of D guy at #8 pick, and Nelson was still there, then he could be the offense equivalent of that guy. A guy who when the game is on the line, can blow open a hole for Howard in a game-on-the-line play.

It is a bit of a long shot, but teams get retarded over QB's in the draft.

Because if you don't have one, you aren't winning championships. An elite QB on a rookie deal gives you 5 cheap seasons of QB play before you have to pay the piper. Get that QB and he covers a multiple of problems, getting you to the playoffs and giving you a shot every year (see Rogers, Aaron and Green Bay.) Without the QB you waste your DEF (see Broncos, Denver), you waste your OL, you waste your skill position players (see every WR/TE/RB that ever jumped from a franchise without a QB to one with a QB)....
Despite all the hot takes, without a QB you won't win. Pure and simple. All the exceptions only prove the rule.

Yep, that's become universally true as is the wisdom of drafting one if possible. One look at the price tags marginal starters and backups are getting tells the rest of the story. We're able to do what we just did in FA because we have a $7 mil per year QB instead of a $27 mil per year QB.
