Are we blaming John Fox for injuries now? Whether he is completely up front about it or not it isn't going to change the outcome one way or the other. I just don't understand the criticism here.

I don't know what the F is goin on , but they should fire the strength & conditioning coaches and their medical staff . Either they dont know wtf they're doing or they aren't keeping up with the times . Sure other teams have injuries but not like this . Fire em all - their replacements could hardly do worse .

I can get behind this. I don't know what it is but the Bears have just had enormous injury issues for the last several years. Usually I just toss it up to bad luck but year after year this continues being a problem. It's possible that this is just perception, all teams have injuries, but it's hard to ignore that the amount the Bears have been suffering seems way outside the norm.

Does the HC hire the medical and S&C staff as well? The very means of money for the McCaskeys should you think be highly valued, so therefore be held to the highest regards. I mean if my kid was a genius and could possibly build some Star Trek replicator you know I would be kicking some bully ass!!!

The Bulls have also had really strange issues with their Director of Sports medicine with regards to injuries but they fired her this year. Not sure if relevant or similar.
I posted this in the injury thread awhile ago and this follow up to it.
"I guess it's time to repeat what I posted about a month ago. This many injuries to this many players can't all be just bad luck. Either something is hinky with the training staff or these guys lack proper conditioning, the nature of the practices or practice fields is contributing or something.
These guys just don't seem to be in the best of shape to play football and when that's the case injuries happen AND you get your asses kicked. Even those who aren't out or on the IR are dinged up more than usual. Too much of this is happening for it to be just bad luck or coincidental."

When people get injured they're either over-conditioning or under-conditioning - and maybe not conditioning the right way . Conditioning isn't running in a straight line for a fb player . There's alot of twisting , turning , stopping and starting etc ... and the only way to condition these guys PROPERLY is to have them doing the kinds of things their bodies are gonna be forced to do in a real fb game .
So , either these guys aren't coming in , IN-shape , and they're forcing them to do all the twisty turny stuff BEFORE they've built up their base conditioning - or they are coming in in-shape and they're doing too much of it .

This has been my contention starting several months ago when so many were missing time in camp and the preseason which also lends and explanation to the overall lack of preparedness. Maybe this is another thing that's contributing to the rumored disconnect between the front office and the coaching staff. This gets even more complex if you think about it.
We can't blame Fox for what the training and/or medical staff does or doesn't do but we can ask him why he's always so vague when asked about injuries. Is he being intentionally vague or has he been misinformed? Comments like it's day to day when it's not, and I'm not a doctor I'm just telling you what they tell me don't help much either. I think it's an NFL policy the the HC gives the injury report so what does he know and what doesn't he know?
The training and nutrition staff was a Pace hire and if I recall he did a makeover of that whole deal when he took over. State of the art we were told. Ever since then it seems the injuries have mounted and more and more of them have been shrouded in some kind of secrecy whenever they could be. The news of injuries taking place during games seems to be more complete and accurate but the offseason stuff and preseason stuff not at all.
One reason guys get hurt is freak accidents like getting your leg rolled up on or jamming a thumb like Cutler did and then aggravating it the next game but we don't even know his status. Earlier is was at least 3-4 weeks but Fox still says day to day. Like Rosenrant pointed out secrecy about whose playing and whose not seems of little value now since no matter who plays as a team they don't play well enough to win or even come close.
OK so here's where the questions come up. Fox controls the team but Pace controls the medical and training staff who would either approve a player to practice or play or be held out. As many HCs do Fox talks about are you injured or simply hurt and about playing with "owies" as he calls them. Are Pace and his medical and training staff being or have been this summer ultra conservative about holding guys out of practices which effects both the preparedness and the game conditioning? This seem to have come up at time over the course of camp and the preseason. So has this become an issue between Pace and Fox too among other things? Is one sabotaging the other?
I have no idea only thoughts but I think we all have to admit something's not right somewhere. No one gets this unlucky with this many injuries. Some of it has to be either based on training and conditioning or it's in the way they practice or don't practice but it's pretty obvious it's gone on long enough to practically call for a Senate investigation. My thinking is somebody needs to address it and explain it because the injury excuse can only be accepted up to a point. Beyond that people want answers.
