I haven't read the article but I swear it was reported a while ago that the Bears were in talks in the Sox for a shared facility.

Yeah, I remember that. I thought it was a negotiating tactic, but now I think he is serious

Again, I can't read it but Warren does not strike me as a guy that gives up easily. I figured that, but I never knew that logic was not going to factor in, lol

We don't know what is going on behind the scenes and until we do, I can't second guess, but it sounds messed up

You realize the second Warren says "Nevermind, we don't want Chicago" the Bears lose ALL leverage in AH?  ALL leverage.  Whatever leverage you think they'd still have, you're wrong.  Playing the "we're staying in Chicago" card is the only card the Bears have right now.

They need to play this game until all the proposals and tax agreements are set in stone by the AH city council.  None of these articles mean anything, other than to serve as a public negotiating tactic to try to get the AH teamsters to back down and run out the clock until the City Council can codify the proposal without significant political blowback.

It was reported a few months ago.  IMO, the Bears discussion with the city were for a lakefront location.  The Sox are looking at a property on the Near South Side (directly south of Chicago's Loop and on an unused former railroad yard).  Something Ike a mile west of the lakefront, if not more.

I get that, but there is a wide ocean between not saying "Nevermind, we don't want Chicago" and hiring people to influence politicians to ram through a lakefront deal and at the same time trying to make the lakefront tax situation more palatable by partnering with other teams. JMO

Yes, it makes sense that they initially pursue locations that are more palatable to their fans. But if they both want a new stadium and taxing authorities say no more taxes, they try to combine locations in order to try and get only one put through. Honestly, not sure that will happen either, but the guy sure is trying
