Herbert was a 6th round draft pick. My hope is that the Bears fix the offensive line first - but our grocery list for players should include getting a better RB than Herbert, Swift & RoJo. None of these three are bad players. But we need better.
Last year's All-Pro running back, Kyren Williams, is a 5th round draft pick in his 2nd season (last year). He rushed for over 1,100 yards for 12 touchdowns, and also got over 200 yards receiving and an additional 3 TDs as a receiver.
The year before (2022) Nick Chubb & Derrick Henry were All-Pro RBs and neither were first round picks. The year before that, Joe Mixon was a 2nd round All-Pro.
I'm not saying it is easy to get a true/legit stud RB. It isn't easy. But still, it's not that difficult to get one outside of the first round... even an All-Pro level RB. And Herbert is never gonna sniff All-Pro. As Bears fans I am convinced we over-value our players thinking they are better than they truly are. Herbert was a "good but not great" running back for us. I wish him luck.

I guess we at least got a ham sandwich for him. I liked both Herbert and Foreman but of course they like Swift who can catch but I just don't see the appeal vs others.
