While it's not surprising it is disappointing that some people think Cutler's absence was why we won this game.
Here's a stat or two: Last three games rush yards: 73, 64, 78 Today: 114 Last three games opponent rush yards: 129, 100, 199 Today: 66
The offense rushed well which opened up the passing game and relieved the pressure on the QB. Hoyer had all day to throw it. Anyone with functioning eyeballs could see it. Ezekiel Ansah and DeAndre Levy were also out for this game. The Lions just couldn't get pressure on the QB and they couldn't blitz because they were getting gashed by the running game.
The defense kept the Lions' run game from really ever getting established forcing the Lions into always throwing the ball and becoming one dimensional. Which resulted in the 2 Ints that erased their drives.
And finally Howard looks like may be a stud. If you have to pick one player, he was the single biggest difference in this game.
I'm glad Hoyer is playing well. It means we have a decent backup if Cutler goes down again, but giving him more credit over those who actually deserve the credit is not good analysis.
Payton the bears o stayed on the field and didnt turn the ball over which allowed the o to run and the def to stay fesh and attack as they normally had the lead
Yards mean shit. We scored 17 points. Look out everyone.
The more time we keep our defense off the field the better it is for us.
We need to limit the amount of mistakes and to be honest Cutler is known for his mistakes. He holds on to the ball too long and also isn't that great with reading defenses.
I'm still all for tanking the season and getting a real top 3 draft choice. If its to develop a QB so be it but we really need that pick to jump start this team next year.

Agreed, but there has been 1 TO in 2 games under Hoyer, Cutler has 3 in the same gametime. Competition has been lighter so need to limit any major thoughts on the subject, but Cutler hasn't looked good, and Hoyer has at least looked ok.
