Ben Johnson has witnessed Dan Campbell have one of the best GMs in the league giving him everything he needs, which enables him to be successful. Brad Holmes is without doubt a top 5 GM in the league.
Would Ben view Ryan Poles as a GM he can work well with? Would he view him as a GM that would enable him to be successful?

it was rumored last year Ben Johnson was interested in Bears job. When it did not become avail do to keeping Flus, Johnson spoke with Washington and then promptly withdrew as candidate. Rumor is he wanted Bear job, can't see anything from management that would change that.

Ben Johnson himself would be the only one to have any actual credible information on any of that. No one will find out what was or is on his mind until Lions season is over.

If Eberflus is fired I am sure the Bears will do their due diligence on several possible candidates for the job.

IMO, there will be a lot of competition for Ben Johnson.  But he looks like a decent HC candidate.

In his case, I'd forego my usual diatribes against HC playcallers. I think this one would be good at it.

McVay, Shanahan, and LaFleur are 3 of the best HC play callers
All 3 are very close friends. Fun fact: McVay has never beaten LaFleur.

When did Ben Johnson become OC? 2022? Then he was involved in only one loss vs. The Pack. Of course he was the play caller against Joe Barry's D(crap D scheme) for a couple of his play calling wins.
