We started this site.  They knocked on the door like demons' disguised as Jehovah's "Witlesses" (that's the correct spelling for what I meant too), Alex slammed the door in their face and that's that.

I don't give **** what they do but they won't be doing it here.

Much prefer the look and feel of the other forum. This is bare bones. I think the discussion here is good but often is drum beating. A few posters really do the heavy lifting here keeping new content coming in each day. Not a big fan of old man perv. commentary and picture posting but it's not a game changer. Overall, this is a good site. It doesn't have that everyday draw to me that the other board had but that could be a result of the shittiness of the team and my own schedule recently.

It's really neither here nor there but Grimson is the only one of the three that had a large meh factor to me.

As time passes we can probably add more "slickness" to the look but at inception there were several reasons to keep it more bare bones not the least of which is cost and the desire to keep it ad free for as much and as long as possible.  That's a goal we have and hope to continue meeting.

The other reason is since we're by in large a site made up of fewer members who joined simply to have a better place to talk Bears football without the clutter and interference of intentional trolling and thread hijacks.  We aren't out to attract the public in general as DBS is.  So the packaging isn't as pretty.

We're just six weeks into this but we've had over 300 new threads and 6000 posts which is a pretty amazing amount of traffic for a new site.  And maybe just as importantly in contrast to what many came from not a single moderation issue has come up.  That was another important goal we'd hoped to meet and so far we are quite nicely in fact.

Being able to use both sites may be an advantage for some and not so much for others.  That's the great thing about freedom of choice.  But we're glad you've chosen to join us and contribute here as well.

Belli - I agree with Soul. With the option of being able to use both (or hell - as many as you want). If you like some of the content of the old board, go for it. You can go between both. I have no desire myself but since I make up the old man perv commentary, you can see why I like it here more

This continues to be an excellent place to discuss football. I don't post a lot (hence I'll maintain rookie status forever :-) ) but really enjoy reading the commentary, hearing what's up with the team, we don't hear much here in Atlanta, and just general overall conversation. The lack of trolling and abusive commentary is great. All I can say is thank you for allowing me to be here and for all the time and energy that is going into making this a great home.

I must admit I dont see this site as aforementioned bare bones compared to dbs.com. In fact dbs.com was stuff on top of stuff, main page looked like a circus pamflet with absolutely no real order. This is a forum, not a web-page. Only feature I was using there is 'bear down', absolutely everything else I used to use is here, maybe in a different form, but here

Dude, no way, you are the heart of this board. Your article postings are where I get most of my bears news. and what good is having a forum if you can't joke around a little? Your pictures are fine. I have no problem with the old man perv stuff either, that's part of the fun! But I guess I'm an old man perv myself.
